Bodybuilder George Peterson, 37, is found dead face down in his Florida hotel room

Star bodybuilder George Peterson III, known as ‘Da Bull,’ has been found dead in his Florida hotel room just two days before he was scheduled to compete in the prestigious Mr Olympia contest. He was 37.

Peterson was said to have been found lying on the hotel room floor in Orlando on Wednesday. 

The organizers of Mr Olympic confirmed his death within hours, writing in an Instagram post: ‘it is with great sadness that we report the unexpected passing of George Peterson, a champion on stage and off. Our condolences go out to his family and all who respected and admired one of the kindest men we have ever known.’

No cause of death has been revealed as of Thursday afternoon. 

Peterson’s coach and long-time friend, Justin Miller, told TMZ, which first reported on Peterson’s death, that the athlete was excited about his upcoming appearance in the competition on the eve of his death. 

The next day, Miller said he was unable to reach Peterson by neither phone nor text. He went up to bodybuilder’s room and found the 5-foot-7, 190-pound man lying face-down on the floor.

Miller called 911 and proceeded to attempt CPR, but Peterson by than had been dead for several hours. 

Peterson had been a mainstay on the competitive bodybuilding circuit, and won the 2019 Arnold Classic Physique and the 2020 Tampa Pro titles.
