Family Guy Killed Off a Main Character

[Spoiler Alert] Last night on Family Guy, Brian was hit by a car and, well, died. Like, dead died. He didn’t come back via time travel or dream sequence. The Griffins even got a new dog (voiced by The Sopranos’ Tony Sirico) because, as executive producer Steve Callaghan told E!, “By losing Brian, it felt like a void needed to be filled both comically, and also for the interpersonal relationships between all the characters.” It’s hard to believe, partly because Brian and Stewie’s friendship was still one the show’s most consistently funny relationships and partly because this sure seems like a joke Family Guy would pull on its audience.
