Beverly Hilton Exec Reveals Plan to Avoid Another Shuttlegate The Hollywood Reporter
New year, new shuttle plan. That’s what’s being promised just days before the Golden Globes, one year after a transportation debacle that left hundreds, if not thousands, of would-be revelers stranded in a Century City parking garage (above) while they waited — some for nearly three hours — for transfers to postshow parties at The Beverly Hilton.
“We have been working with all concerned parties throughout the past year to develop a transportation plan that will allow the guests … to be transported in a timely manner while still maintaining the safety and security of our guests,” hotel GM Sandy Murphy tells THR. “We have increased the number of shuttles, given dedicated space to each afterparty as well as reworked the path of travel.”
Murphy declined to provide a number of shuttles or route details; last year, guests were required to park at 1999 Avenue of the Stars and board waiting buses rather than park or be dropped off at the Hilton. Fuller House star Jodie Sweetin told THR she waited two and a half hours: “It was like the worst DMV nightmare.”
