Hawkins is fine and participated in Saturday’s pregame shoot-around and hit a 3-pointer on the first possession of the game against Miami in the Final Four.

He scored 13 points, including three 3s, and played 25 minutes in UConn’s 72-59 win over the Hurricanes. He said he felt better as the game went on and was confident he would play despite feeling awful on Friday.

Hawkins stated that he doesn’t know if he got food poisoning or just caught a bug, but he blamed his calamari dinner on Thursday night for his illness.

This is UConn’s sixth Final Four appearance and its first since 2014 when it won its fourth title under coach Kevin Ollie.

Jordan was born on June 12, 2003, in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He is the son of Jasmine and Craig Hawkins.  His parents encouraged him to pursue his dreams and have been the support he needed.
